About Us and Our #packlove Mentality

Our story began back in 2010, when our Founder and Head Trainer, Kristen Delea-Sacco, left Corporate America behind to open our original location in North Branford, Connecticut.  Sitting within a 5000 square foot, steel warehouse building, the Metro Pooch Pack grew from one dog, one day at  at time, to well over 100 dogs a day.  Kristen dreamed of one day moving into a state of the heart building, that she could designed from the ground up; one that ensured all things dog were considered and accounted for.  After ten years in North Branford and years of planning, that dream came true with the opening of The Metro Pooch, Guilford. 

Every ounce of our new space was designed by Kristen, with all things dogs in mind.  The nearly 11,000 square foot building offers an up-scale alternative to traditional dog boarding, a soothing, spa-like atmosphere and over 20,000 square feet of outdoor play space for the dogs in our care.  Situated on eleven acres, in one of Connecticut Shoreline's finest towns, Guilford, The Metro Pooch offers breathtaking views of the coastal reserves, with over ten thousand square feet of outdoor playspace (complete with dog-specific artificial turf), indoor play areas, luxury overnight suites of varying sizes, high-tech air quality control and so much more!  Every ounce of our building was designed and created with true purpose in mind; to provide the best, the safest and the most enriching, stress-free environment possible for our canine clients. 

The Metro Pooch Pack is led by our Founder, Kristen Delea-Sacco.  Kristen has spent the last decade focusing on how dogs communicate, teaching us humans, how to actually understand what they need, how they need it and when they need it!  NO TLT is something you will hear her say often!  No Talking Looking or toucning!  Her focus is on  how to help them be the best version of themselves with the help of their family and loved ones who share influence in their lives.  and takes pride in having (in her opinion) one of the most highly trained teams in these areas!  studying various training methods  She loves to teach our team how much happens spends hours on end learning about how dogs communicate, how to reshape behaviors, stop unwanted behaviors and encourage the good ones!  gives us the upper paw in helping them live their best life despite their ups and downs!
